The attitude of the United States towards cannabis and its potential medicinal benefits is reflected in a new survey showing that three-quarters of people would prefer holistic solutions and 62% would opt for weed over pharmaceuticals. to treat medical problems.

Released this week, the findings are part of a survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of cannabis consumer product provider Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. The survey gathered feedback from nearly 2,000 U.S. adults. aged 21 and over, notes a statement from Curaleaf.

A US study published in the fall of 2021 found that “medical cannabis use was associated with lower self-reported depression, but not anxiety, at baseline.”

Nearly nine in 10 respondents, or 88%, who had used cannabis as an alternative and/or in addition to pharmaceutical treatments believe it improved their overall well-being, Curaleaf reports.

Additionally, 86% of respondents who have done so would recommend cannabis to a friend or family member for medical reasons, the company adds.

Survey results released earlier this year by the University of Michigan show that 73% of parents surveyed would consider their children using the compound if other medications do not work.
