Construction worker allegedly stole prescription drugs from Walgreens drug drop box | Crime and courts

CALEDONIA — A construction worker allegedly stole prescription drugs from a Walgreens prescription drug drop box he was repairing.
Schumacher
Joshua Michael Schumacher, 44, of the 7600 block of 14th Avenue, Kenosha, has been charged with one count of possession of narcotics and two misdemeanor counts of unlawfully obtained possession/prescription in addition to the misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and theft.
According to a criminal complaint:
At 1:09 p.m. Monday, an agent was dispatched to Walgreens at 5005 Douglas Ave. for a flight. He was informed that three construction workers inside the store had stolen from the prescription drop box.
Upon arrival, the officer confirmed that construction workers were still in the store.
A pharmacist said earlier today that a customer saw one of the workers pocketing medicine from the bin. The pharmacist then took a bottle of Tramadol out of the trash, printed a fake label saying Oxycodone, and placed it on the bottle before putting it back in the trash.

Surveillance showed that at 2:07 p.m. Schumacher was working inside the trash can. He then reaches out and places something in his pocket.
Shortly after, he enters the reserve alone for a short time before returning inside to work. He then left to meet another of the construction workers in the storage room before heading the two of them to the work truck.
One of the construction workers said the truck was a company vehicle and he began to get defensive about why the officers wanted to search the truck. A search found:
- Kratom in the center console
- 19 Tramadol pills under Kratom
- THC wax in the passenger side door
- 12 tramadol pills in a small plastic bag
- THC wax in a medical kit
- A glass jar used to hold marijuana
- Three hydrocodone tablets in Schumacher’s cigarette box
- THC accessories in a small box
The other construction workers admitted to hearing about the THC wax and the Kratom bottle. Schumacher was attributed with stealing Oxycodone and Tramadol pills from Walgreens.
Schumacher had an adjourned initial appearance via Zoom on Wednesday.
