TULSA, Okla. – Police say they arrested a man for stealing prescription drugs and was caught with a drug pipe in his mouth.

Tulsa police say Juan Huerta attempted to steal a television from the village’s east-central apartments.

“Stop it here. don’t come here with that,” local resident Patrick Harvey said.

According to the police, he tried to steal a television but settled for pills.

A person was home during the burglary but did not realize Huerta was inside.

“Be safe, stay in school and have fun,” Harvey said.

That’s what Harvey said after learning what happened.

“My kids have won playing outside because they’re scared too and I won’t let them unless one of us adults is outside,” she said.

Police also say Huerta was shot by a neighbor and an off-duty bounty hunter who they say conveniently had a pair of handcuffs with him to use on suspects.

Huerta was arrested on two counts of first-degree burglary

Another woman, who did not want to be identified, told FOX23 that she and her neighborhood deserved better.

Huerta was convicted of two counts of first-degree burglary and battery and public intoxication.
