Multi-employer job fair in Flint aims to fill medical positions

FLINT, MI – A multi-employer job fair to be held in Flint aims to fill various positions in the medical field.
The Flint Multi-Employer Career Fair takes place from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 at the Flint Service Center, 711 N. Saginaw St., according to a GST Michigan Works! prospectus.
Job seekers are encouraged to arrive by noon on November 16 to review resumes and prepare for interviews.
The job fair, hosted by GST Michigan Works! in partnership with the Greater Flint Health Coalition will be attending the Flint Healthcare Employment Opportunities Program, Suncrest, Lapeer County Medical Care Facility, Memorial Healthcare, Flatrock Inc., Ascension Genesys, First Day Homecare, Pleasant View Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Network of Hamilton Community Health, Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center and Serenity Quality Home.
The Durand Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center is looking to fill a number of positions ranging from Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nurse Aide, Resident Aide, Dietary Aide, housekeeping/laundry assistance and life enrichment assistance.
The hourly rate for a registered nurse at the rehabilitation center ranges from $30 to $32.50, depending on the flyer.
Flatrock Inc. currently has 26 nursing homes located in Lapeer, Oakland, and Genesee counties that help adults with mental illnesses.
The company hires direct care workers at $14.60 per hour, home managers at $20.35 per hour, and a limited licensed psychologist at competitive salaries.
Serenity Quality Home, a non-medical home care and chores service that provides in-home care to residents of Flint and surrounding areas, aims to fill positions for personal care assistant, grocery store, home help , direct care worker starting at $12.25 per hour.
